The gardens have full sets of garden furniture, BBQ and swings, sand pits and other childrens' outdoor games.
We have bicycles you can borrow but you will have to sign a disclaimer form for insurance purposes.
The property is fully fenced off with off-road parking.
To the front of the property there is parking space and a garden; to the rear of the house there is a good-sized secluded garden, with garden furniture, bar-b-que and outdoor games for the children. Beyond this is an acre-size garden with a large pond – plenty of space for kicking around a football here! - an a large, heated swimming pool. (operational from mid May to end September)
Whilst the Gîtes are within the same boundary as the owner’s own home, all efforts are made to assure our guests their privacy.
Often our presence is much appreciated as we can help out with all sorts of information such as the best wine cellars, the nearest doctor, where you can get the best “tripes” etc, etc!
Help and advice on things to see and do in the area, helping out translation-wise in the event of medical problems (we have liaised with doctors and hospitals several times), finding a friendly local mechanic; we can even help you find and buy a house!
Location
'Les Bocages' is located on the outskirts of Monteaux, a small village that has a variety of shops and services: a boulangerie, a general store (Spar), a butcher, and, of course, a bar! For a wider choice of shops (a hypermarket, garages, banks and lots more) there is Onzain, just a five-minute drive away.

In the village centre, a 10 minute walk away, you will find an excellent “boulangerie”, a grocer's, a butcher, a hairdresser, a Post Office and a typical French café for newspapers and cigarettes - and local characters!
We are also a wine producing area so you will find a great choice of wine producers nearby from which to purchase different wines!
In Onzain, 6 Kms away, our bigger town, you will find the supermarket, banks, hairdressers, library, chemist, dentist, doctors, garages. Market day on Thursdays.
